The End of Summer Book Tag

Nooo, summer is over.  This summer flew by so fast.  I don’t want it to end.   I had an awesome time writing posts and figuring out my blog.  Thank you to all of my followers for a wonderful summer.   To commemorate it I decided to do The End of Summer Book Tag.  I hope you enjoy.  Thank You!!

Rules:

Thank the person who tagged you.

Tag at least thirteen people.

What was your Favorite Book this Summer?

That’s hard. In fact I have more than one. These include Scarlet by A. C. Gaughen.  I loved this story and the rest of the series lived up to the first book.  I totally adore this series.  Also, I loved Stalking Jack the Ripper ,Roar,  and The Daughter of Smoke and Bone which were all stunning books.

See my posts The Daughter of Smoke and Bone ,and Scarlet by A. C. Gaughen

What was your Least Favorite Book this Summer?

I don’t know.  There were quite a few books I didn’t like very much this summer but I can’t decide which was worse.  A few are listed below…

Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher

The Secret to lying by Todd Mitchell

Miracles on Maple Hill by Virginia Sorenson

and more.

See my previous post, Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher

What Book Did you wish You had read this Summer?

I wish I could’ve gotten around to reading a A Court of Thorns and Roses.  I have been meaning to read that book since it first came out but things just kept coming up and I kept forgetting to put it on hold.  I have heard that the book is amazing and am excited to read it.  I will read it by end of the year.  I have to.

What was your Favorite Classic you read this summer?(If you didn’t read one this summer than in general.)

I only read Frankenstien this summer so that is my favorite classic this summer.  I did love the story and even read another book called Doctor Frankensteins daughters by another author which was a pretty fantastic book, too.

Did you stray into a different genre and pick up a new and exciting book?

Yes, I did because my cousin who is into psychological thrillers suggested One was Lost by Natalie D. Richards.  The book was interesting  and definitely not what I usually read.

Damaged, Deceptive, Dangerous, Darling. When a group of teens wake up in the woods, these words are inked onto their skin. Are they labels? A warning? They must find the truth before a killer finds them.

On a school trip the group is seperated by a flash flood and than they awake to find their teacher drugged and no way to find help. They set out to try to reach help all the while knowing there is a killer on the loose who is keeping them alive for a reason.  But what? Will they survive long enough to find out?

What was your favorite movie adaptation this summer?

I didn’t see any but I am excited for several movies that are coming out later this year or next year that are based on books I have read.

What was your favorite new release book?

I have two but they didn’t really come out this summer.  Still, I loved Crown of Wishes by Roshani Chokshi which came out March 28th and Traitor to the Throne by Alwyn Hamilton which came out March 7th.

See my posts Traitor to the Throne by Alwyn Hamilton and The Star- Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi which is the first book in the series to Crown Of Wishes.

The Unpopular Opinion Book Tag

Hello,  I have seen this book tag recently and I just knew I had to do it.  I hope you enjoy this tag as much as I do. Thank You.

A Popular Book or Series that you didn’t like.

I hated this book because I felt like the book romanticized suicide and because I could never get into the book. See my previous post HERE.

A Popular Book or Series that everyone seems to hate except you

I loved this series but my family hated it.  Ok, maybe they didn’t outright despise it but they found it boring. Honestly, though I  adored this series even if a hundred pages was of them walking through tunnels.

A love triangle where the main character ended up with the person you did NOT want them to end up with

I always hated Peeta and the actor didn’t help.  I was pretty angry when Katniss ended up with Peeta instead of Gayle who I think is a much better character.

A popular Book Genre that you hardly reach for

I hardly ever pick up realistic fiction or Horror.  I am starting to read more in these departments but I mostly stay away from these genres.

A popular or beloved character that you do not like

I would have to say I hated Tris Priar.  She was such a pity party in the second book that I couldn’t stand her.  For me the series continually got worse.

A Popular author that you can’t seem to get into

I just can’t get into Veronica Roth.  After the end of the Divergent series I just can’t bring myself to read any of her books.  I heard of the Carve of the Mark but am hesitant to read it.

A Popular Book Trope you’re tired of seeing ( example: Love triangles, corrupt rulers, ” Lost Princesses”)

I am so sick of reading of characters who find their powers and then in the second or third book lose them temporarily because some cruel villain has them in their clutches.

A Popular Series that you have no interest in reading

I don’t really have and answer for this one.  I will read almost anything and if I find that it is horrendous than I shall stop reading it.

The saying goes “The book is always better than the movie”, but what movie or T.V. show adaptation do you prefer more than the book?

None!  In my opinion the book is almost always better than the movie

Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher

Hannah Baker killed herself but before she died she sent out tapes to thirteen people telling of how their interactions with her led to her demise.

Clay liked Hannah and when he recieves the tapes he is shocked and saddened.  He soon dives into the complicated people around him and how Hannah was negatively impacted by their actions amd how maybe just.. maybe he could of saved her.

This book is absolutely terrible.  We learn nothing of the main character ,Clay, except that he has a garage, his mom likes milkshakes, and he learns how to ride the bus.  Hannah turns out to be a selfish girl who sends out tapes for revenge.  In the end we hate all the characters and never ever want to read this book again.

I would not suggest reading this and I sincerely hope this helped.
