I can hardly believe that we are entering 2018.  This past year has flown by.  Below is a list of the top twelve books that I read this year.  There are definitely more favorites but if I didn’t stop at twelve my list would just keep on going.  I am not putting them in any particular order.

  • Ruby Red Kerstin Gier
  • Roar  by Cora Carmack
  • Scarlet by A. C Gaughen
  • The Demon Trapper’s Daughter by Jana Oliver

Book Review: The Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

Book Review: The Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

Karou is a girl with blue hair that grows straight out of her head. She sketches monsters that mightbe real and she speaks more languages than she should be able to.  Who is she?  She’ll find out as black handprints appear on doorways across the world from winged strangers who have come from the sky.  As strange things happen and a war brims can Karou figure out who she is?

I loved this book so much.  Karou was a relatable character and from the first word I was dragged into a story of family, love, and uncertainty.  This book kept me up late because I had to know what would happen.  Immediately after I finished it I read the next two books.  This series is a MUST read. I highly recommend it. You’ll be as wrapped up in this story as I was and will never want the series to end.
