Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

Mare’s world is divided by blood.  People with silver blood are gods with abilities that make them higher than the common population of reds.

Mare has a silver gift ,despite the fact that she came from a dirt poor red family, that cannot be explained.  As a result the King makes her a silver princess to hide who she truly is.  As a rebellion rises like a new dawn Mare must figure out who are her friends and enemies are and how to survive court intrigue while hiding her identity at every turn for fear of discovery.   With the two princes pitted against each other Mare must decide whose side she is on and if the sacrifices made are worth it in the end.

This book was phenomenal and I would definitely read it.  I loved Mare, the main character who continued on against all odds.  She never knew what to expect around the corner where death could be lurking but she still persevered.

I can’t wait to read the sequel and see how Mare’s story continues.
